General Program Details

  1. Why is the program called FREE SPIRITTM The name FREE SPIRIT was chosen because it exemplifies the true nature of our program - award travel available to the most popular places in the Americas and the Caribbean. And FREE SPIRIT was designed to reward all of its members - from the twice a year vacationer, to the everyday business traveler - FREE SPIRIT has something for you. Spirit Airlines isn't constrained by many of the rules that were created by other airlines decades ago.  All miles earned count towards your status, including miles earned through partner programs like the FREE SPIRIT MasterCard®* With Domestic awards starting with as few as 15,000 miles and Caribbean awards at just 20,000 miles, the only question left is, how fast can you pack?

Say yes to award travel to the most popular destinations.
  2. How is FREE SPIRIT so different from other programs?
FREE SPIRIT is different because it rewards all of its loyal customers, from the twice a year vacationer to the business traveler who travels frequently.

    • All miles count towards your status, including miles earned through partner programs like the FREE SPIRIT MasterCard*.
    • By making this an online program, we are able to keep the costs of running the program low, and pass those savings directly onto you our most loyal customers!  Mileage redemptions start at just 15,000 miles, lower than any other major U.S. carriers standard awards*.

(*Based on published redemption rates as of February 2006 on respective airline web sites)

  3. How should I enter my name on my FREE SPIRIT account? You should enter your name exactly as it is listed on your government issued photo ID. Please do not use nicknames. Please use the same name you enter on your
FREE SPIRIT account to reserve your travel, otherwise FREE SPIRIT credit cannot be given.
  4. Can I earn FREE SPIRIT miles if the name on my account is different than the name I use when I travel? To receive automatic mileage credit, the name on your FREE SPIRIT account needs to match the name on your ticket. Due to FAA security issues, you should have your tickets issued in a legal name that matches your government issued photo ID rather than a nickname.

If you were a member and traveled using your nickname, or a new legal name, that has not been updated on your FREE SPIRIT account and you did not receive automatic FREE SPIRIT miles for a flight, please submit a written request along with copies of your receipt, boarding passes, or ticket along with legal identification that includes your nickname or the legal documents that support your name change with your request.
