Spirit Airlines Offering Fares And Sodas For Only $3*

Miramar, Florida (July 6, 2009) – Spirit’s fares are on average $150 lower¹ than other airlines.  The difference?  Other airlines give you a “free” soda.

“Many airlines boast about giving passengers a “free” drink,” says Spirit’s Senior Director of Consumer Marketing Bobby Schroeter.  “There’s no such thing as a ‘free’ drink.  It’s hidden in the price of their ticket, which is $150 more¹ than Spirit.  Sounds like an awfully expensive soda to us.”

Today and tomorrow, not only are Spirit’s soft drinks $3, but the ultra low cost airline is also offering fares from $3*.

How is Spirit able to offer such low fares?  It’s simple.  Spirit starts with an ultra low base fare and then allows passengers to choose the optional services they want to purchase.

“Airlines that hide the price of sodas and other fees in the fare are fooling passengers into paying $150 more for services they may not even want or need,” adds Schroeter.  “If you want to purchase a soda onboard Spirit, we give you that option.  But it surely won’t cost you $150.”

Spirit’s $3 fares* are available today and tomorrow at www.spiritair.com.
