.
The daily service will be operated with Spirit’s fleet of Airbus A319s, the youngest in the Americas.
“We are extremely pleased to be able to liberate millions of Colombians from high fares as we’ve already done in Cartagena, Bogota and other cities in the region,” said Spirit Airlines Chief Marketing Officer Barry Biffle.
Referring to the new Spirit Airlines flight to Medellín, Oscar Rueda García, Vice Minister of Tourism of Colombia said: “Spirit’s arrival marks a new stage in the history of tourism in Medellín and Antioquia, and we are looking forward to these excellent fares in promoting tourism to the country. “It is good news for Medellín to count on a new company with competitive prices that will invigorate and increase the tourism sector to our city, allowing us to advance in our effort to build a more global city,” said Medellín Mayor Alonso Salazar Jaramillo.
