SPIRIT AIRLINES INITIATES HURRICANE BUSTER POLICY: AUGUST 18 UPDATE
MIRAMAR, FLORIDA (August 18, 2008) - In order to offer customers flexibility, Spirit Airlines has activated its Hurricane Buster Protection policy in response to potential flight changes resulting from Tropical Storm Fay. For customers holding reservations for travel to, from or through affected locations between Monday, August 18, 2008, and Wednesday, August 20, 2008, Spirit Airlines will waive the change fee and difference in fare, provided that customers rebook their travel plans before the date and time of their original reservation, and travel on or before August 24, 2008.
Customers who wish to move their travel beyond August 24, 2008, will not be charged a change fee, however any difference in fare will apply. Customers must call the Spirit Reservations Center at 800-772-7117 (or en Español 800-756-7117) to make their flight changes.
Locations included in the Hurricane Buster Protection policy related to Tropical Storm Fay are:
- Fort Myers, Florida
- Tampa, Florida
- Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Orlando, Florida
Hurricane Buster Protection:
Spirit Airlines’ Hurricane Buster Protection offers customers the ability to make changes to their reservations without a change fee if there is a hurricane watch in effect for their origin or destination airport June 1, 2008, through November 15, 2008.
