Signing up for FREE SPIRIT is easy. Just visit spiritair.com, click on
FREE SPIRIT, and complete the enrollment form. You'll receive an email back with all of the information you'll need to get started along with your
FREE SPIRIT number. You are automatically enrolled in the FREE SPIRIT program when you sign up for a FREE SPIRIT MasterCard*.

Please note that each FREE SPIRIT account must have a unique e-mail address. This way you don't have to remember another number or username to get access to all your FREE SPIRIT information.

The easiest and most up-to-date method to see FREE SPIRIT account information is through spiritair.com. Here you will find your FREE SPIRIT balance, a history of any mileage that was earned or redeemed, your current tier status and your current rank.

Our status levels are different than at other programs because all of your miles count towards your status whether earned by flying, through bonus miles, special offers, or through spending with your FREE SPIRIT Mastercard.

• Somebody – Everybody is Somebody with Spirit – Don't be a nobody! As a Somebody, you can earn miles for flying with Spirit Airlines or participating in partner programs.
• Elite - Get a FREE SPIRIT MasterCard^* and make at least one purchase per month and you'll automatically be upgraded to Elite member status the month after your first billing cycle!
  
  There's never been a better time to be a FREE SPIRIT MasterCard holder! You have the ability to earn up to 50,000 bonus miles and your miles never expire as long as you make at least one purchase per month with your FREE SPIRIT MasterCard*.  You can also become an Elite member by earning 12,000 miles over the preceding 6 months from any of the FREE SPIRIT program earning opportunities or by spending $1,200 in base fares (not including taxes and fees) over the preceding 6 months. 
• VIP - Earn more than 24,000 miles over the preceding 6 months from any of the FREE SPIRIT program earning opportunities and you'll be on your way to earning VIP rewards. You can also become a VIP member by spending $2,400 in base fares (not including taxes and fees) over the preceding 6 months.

The following levels are designated by your rank in the FREE SPIRIT program. How do we calculate your rank?

1. A-List – The top 500 FREE SPIRIT members in the FREE SPIRIT program will be designated as A-List members each month based on their preceding 6 months of activity. You must have at least 40,000
   FREE SPIRIT miles to qualify as an A-List. A-List members have the opportunity to earn increased rewards and bonuses.
2. Celebrity – The top 10 FREE SPIRIT members in the FREE SPIRIT program will be designated as Celebrity members each month based on their preceding 6 months of activity. You must have at least 60,000 FREE SPIRIT miles to qualify as a Celebrity. Celebrity members have the opportunity to earn increased rewards and bonuses.

Year end status levels
At the end of the membership year± the top 10 mile earning members will be calculated based on all the miles posted to their account from flown miles, bonus miles, credit card miles, and partner miles. The membership year for 2008 begins on November 1, 2007 and ends on October 31, 2008. Members ranking two through 10 will be designated as Celebrities of the Year and the member in the number one rank will be designated as the #1 member.

1. Celebrities of the Year –The Celebrities of the Year earn a Spirit Vacations trip for two°. Celebrities of the Year don't maintain their status for the next membership year unless status is maintained through mileage earning.
2. #1 – Being #1 in FREE SPIRIT is great, you get to have a plane named after you, a Spirit Vacations trip for two°, limo service to and from the airport when traveling with Spirit, the opportunity to earn up to 400% of actual miles flown when booking tickets on Spirit, and more! The #1 member has the opportunity to earn the highest rewards and bonuses from the FREE SPIRIT program.

Ensuring You Earn FREE SPIRIT Miles
We will automatically track qualifying FREE SPIRIT reservations and flights when your FREE SPIRIT account number appears in your reservation record.

Simply login to your FREE SPIRIT account and request mileage credit for your flights. The 30 day limit to apply for missing mileage credit will still apply to your request. Please keep in mind that it may take up for 10 days for your FREE SPIRIT account to reflect your FREE SPIRIT MasterCard status.

To receive automatic mileage credit, the name on your FREE SPIRIT account needs to match the name on your ticket. Due to FAA security issues, you should have your tickets issued in a legal name that matches your government issued photo ID rather than a nickname.

Depending how you book your travel, follow the steps below to ensure you earn FREE SPIRIT miles.

1. If you book your ticket on spiritair.com
   To ensure you receive credit for travel on Spirit, login to your
   FREE SPIRIT account, book your trip through spiritair.com, and use your name exactly as it appears on your FREE SPIRIT account.
2. If you book your ticket through Spirit Reservations
   After you book your ticket through Spirit Reservations, please login to your FREE SPIRIT account and click on "Request mileage Credit". To add your FREE SPIRIT number to a flight not already flown or to obtain retroactive credit on a flight already flown (we allow credit to flights up to 30 days prior to the current date), you'll need your record locator.
3. If you book your ticket through one of our travel agency partners or affiliated web site 
   After you book your ticket, please login to your FREE SPIRIT account and click on "Request mileage Credit". To add your FREE SPIRIT number to a flight not already flown or to obtain retroactive credit on a flight already flown (we allow credit to flights up to 30 days prior to current date), please note that you'll need your record locator.
   In order to earn mileage credit or qualify for a promotion, you must add your FREE SPIRIT number to your reservation. Follow these steps to add your FREE SPIRIT number to your reservation to ensure you get the miles you deserve.

How to add your FREE SPIRIT number to a reservation
In order to earn mileage credit or qualify for a promotion, you must add your FREE SPIRIT number to your reservation. Follow these steps to add your
FREE SPIRIT number to your reservation to ensure you get the miles you deserve.

When booking on spiritair.com
1. When booking your reservation on spiritair.com, login to your FREE SPIRIT account to complete your ticket purchase. When you login to your
FREE SPIRIT account, your FREE SPIRIT number is automatically added to your reservation.

2. If you do not log in to your FREE SPIRIT account, you can add your
FREE SPIRIT number during the purchase process. Enter your FREE SPIRIT number, along with the FREE SPIRIT numbers of anyone you might be traveling with, in the passenger information section shown below.

After your ticket purchase or after your flight
If you have already completed the purchase of your ticket or have already flown, follow these steps to add your FREE SPIRIT number to your reservation.

1. Login to your FREE SPIRIT account using the e-mail address on your FREE SPIRIT account or your FREE SPIRIT number along with your password.

2. Once you login to your FREE SPIRIT Account, please click on "Request Mileage Credit" on the left hand navigation.

3. On the Request mileage credit page, please enter your six character record locator or six character Web ID from your spiritair.com reservation in the box shown in the image below, and click the "REQUEST MILEAGE CREDIT" button to begin the process.

 

Earning FREE SPIRIT miles
Please see the table below for details on earning FREE SPIRIT miles. If you purchase a ticket for another passenger, only the person who actually travels on that ticket is eligible to earn the FREE SPIRIT miles associated with the trip. FREE SPIRIT miles will not be awarded for BIG FRONT SEAT upgrades. FREE SPIRIT miles will be awarded based on the original seat purchased.

 

Rankings
Members can login to spiritair.com and view their current ranking. Unlike most other frequent flyer programs, all of the miles earned from flown miles, bonus miles, credit card miles, and partner miles that have been earned in the preceding 6 months will be totaled. Your status level will be updated on the second business day of each month and will be based on the preceding 6 months of activity.

For example, in October 2007 the second business day of the month is October 2nd, a Tuesday. Your status level and your rank will be posted to your FREE SPIRIT account on October 2nd and will be based on miles posted to your FREE SPIRIT account from April to September 2007.

At the end of the membership year±, the total number of miles earned from flown miles, bonus miles, credit card miles, and partner miles in the entire year will determine the final Celebrities of the Year and the #1 member in the
FREE SPIRIT program.

Posting mileage to your FREE SPIRIT account
Miles from travel will be posted to your FREE SPIRIT account within 10 days of travel. Purchases made with the FREE SPIRIT MasterCard^*, bonus miles, and partner miles may take up to 8 weeks to be posted to your account. Only miles that are posted to your FREE SPIRIT account are included in the end of the month and end of the membership year calculations.

Please see the table below for details on earning FREE SPIRIT miles. If you purchase a ticket for another passenger, only the person who actually travels on that ticket is eligible to earn the FREE SPIRIT miles associated with the trip. FREE SPIRIT miles will not be awarded for BIG FRONT SEAT upgrades. FREE SPIRIT miles will be awarded based on the original class of service purchased.

Missing Mileage Credit
If it has been more than 10 days since you've traveled on Spirit Airlines and the mileage has not posted to your account, please login, click on "Request mileage credit", and fill in all the requested information. You can request mileage credit for up to 30 days after you've flown.

To receive automatic mileage credit, the name on your FREE SPIRIT account needs to match the name on your ticket. Due to FAA security issues, you should have your tickets issued in a legal name that matches your government issued photo ID rather than a nickname.

If you were a member and traveled using your nickname, or a new legal name, that has not been updated on your FREE SPIRIT account and you did not receive automatic FREE SPIRIT miles for a flight, please submit a written request along with copies of your receipt, boarding passes, or ticket along with legal identification that includes your nickname or the legal documents that support your name change with your request. Please note that we will not be able to credit your FREE SPIRIT account without the supporting legal documentation. Send your documents to:

Expiration of status
For all status levels, except the #1 (who automatically keeps status for one year), status is determined monthly on a rolling 6-month basis.

Expiration of miles

How miles expire
If you have less than 2,000 miles posted to your account from any source during the previous 6 month period, miles older than 6 months will be expired. Because the FREE SPIRIT program calculates your status on a monthly basis, any miles that will expire do so at the start of every month. If you want to keep your miles, get a FREE SPIRIT MasterCard* and make just one purchase per month - then your miles will never expire.

In the example above, at the close of the January this account earned 950 miles in the preceding 6 month period (August through January). Because the minimum 2,000 miles haven't been posted to the account in the previous 6 months, the 2,260 miles earned in July, and any other miles older than 6 months old will expire.

How to keep your miles from expiring
If you want to keep your miles, get the FREE SPIRIT MasterCard and make just one purchase per month** - then your miles will never expire.

Remember, you earn miles by flying with Spirit but you can also earn miles by taking advantage of great FREE SPIRIT offers from partners like Hertz, the FREE SPIRIT Mall and Spirit Vacations. Your miles won't expire when you have at least 2,000 miles posted to your FREE SPIRIT account over the previous 6 month period from any source.

If you have miles in your FREE SPIRIT account that will expire on a certain date, you must have enough miles credited to your account before the mileage expiration date. You need 2,000 miles posted to your account in the past 6 months to keep miles from expiring.

There are two types of travel awards; The Early Bird Award offers discounted mileage awards when travel is booked more than 21 days in advance. The FREE SPIRIT Award is available any time.

You can redeem your miles to book award travel in another person's name. However, transferring miles between FREE SPIRIT accounts isn't available.

Taxes and fees for award travel
FREE SPIRIT members are responsible for paying all applicable taxes and fees (including Customs, inspection, immigration, security, agriculture, facility and departure/arrival charges, any administrative fees and the September 11th U.S. Security Fee of up to $10 roundtrip) and obtaining necessary travel documents for award travel. A credit card will be required at time of booking to pay for any applicable fees and taxes.

Re-depositing miles
Only wholly unused Award Tickets may be cancelled and have mileage redeposited. Once travel has commenced on an Award ticket, the Award is considered used. Mileage for any unused portion will not be redeposited into your account. A per passenger mile redeposit fee of $70 will apply for mileage redeposit requests. Award Tickets must be cancelled at least 7-days prior to the first date of departure.

Changes to Award Tickets
Customers are able to modify a portion of their award ticket or cancel for a $70 fee. If they need to make a change to an award ticket where travel has not yet commenced on their flight and are at least 7-days prior to their initial date of departure, they must cancel and re-book their award ticket. They will need to login under "My Reservations" and click on the “Cancel My Reservation” button. This will send us their change request and we will contact them to modify their booking. A $70 mileage re-deposit fee will be assessed for modifying an un-flown award ticket itinerary and the customer must book the new ticket based on the current applicable award levels.

Customers are able to make modifications to the return portion of their travel itinerary for a $70 modification fee when submitted at least 7-days prior to departure. These changes are including, but not limited to, changing the origin, destination, stopover city, flight or class of service. They will need to login under "My Reservations" and click on the "Modify" button next to the applicable flight segment they wish to modify. This will send us their change request and we will contact them to modify their booking. There are no changes permitted within 7-days of departure.

Name Changes

If your name has legally changed since joining the FREE SPIRIT program, please mail a signed, written request detailing the reason for the change to:

Please make sure to include the supporting legal documentation for your name change, such as a marriage license, court order, divorce decree or legal name change document. We will not be able to change your FREE SPIRIT account without the supporting legal documentation.

Important Information

Spirit Airlines may change the FREE SPIRIT program at any time. The
FREE SPIRIT rules, regulations, benefits, conditions of participation or mileage levels for awards, tickets and cities served, in whole or in part, or status levels at any time with or without notice, even though changes may affect the value of the mileage already accumulated may also change without notice. All mileage and subsequent awards must be earned and used according to the rules and regulations of the FREE SPIRIT program. Complete rules and regulations will be maintained on spiritair.com. Spirit Airlines has the right to terminate the FREE SPIRIT program at any time. The English language terms and conditions on spiritair.com will be the controlling version. By participating in the program, participants agree that if they achieve the level of #1 then that person's name or likeness may be used by Spirit Airlines.
