Membership Basics


What does my $9 Fare Club membership include?

As a member of the $9 Fare Club, you have the ability to purchase our incredibly low, member-only fares, sometimes even as low as a penny! Here are just a few of the benefits included with your membership:

  • Access to exclusive, member-only fare sales
  • Share the savings – your exclusive fare applies to all travelers booked on your reservation
  • Private offers on hotels, rental cars and other travel necessities

How much does a membership cost?

An annual membership to the $9 Fare Club is only $39.95.

60-day trial memberships are available only when purchased in conjunction with a flight on spiritair.com, with benefits beginning on your next reservation. The cost of a trial membership is $9.00, which automatically renews as an annual membership at the end of the term.

How do I sign up?

Please visit the Fare Club enrollment page here to enroll.

**If you are already FREE SPIRIT member, please ensure to log in with your existing account before you enroll to ensure you receive both Fare Club savings and mileage.

**If you are not a FREE SPIRIT member, don’t worry – when you join the Fare Club, we’ll sign you up for a FREE SPIRIT account to earn free travel in addition to your Fare Club savings.

How do I receive complimentary membership?

Complimentary membership is one of the many benefits offered to FREE SPIRIT MasterCard holders. To find out more and to apply for the card, please click here.

Upon first use of the card, it may take up to 45 days for your complimentary membership to be activated. Your Fare Club membership is active when you see the $9 icon on the top left of your screen upon logging into your FREE SPIRIT account on spiritair.com.

You must make at least one purchase using your FREE SPIRIT MasterCard per billing cycle to continue your complimentary membership the following month, and to prevent your FREE SPIRIT mileage from expiring. Your complimentary membership will be deactivated following any period that the purchase requirement is not met, and can be reinstated by using your FREE SPIRIT MasterCard.

FREE SPIRIT members who would like immediate, continuous access to Fare Club benefits may enroll in a paid Annual membership at the current Annual rate at any time.

Paid memberships will continue to the end of the membership term and automatically renew, and will be available to you whether your complimentary membership is active or not. You may cancel your paid membership before the renewal date to avoid membership renewal fees. Please note that paid membership fees are non-refundable and no credits or extensions are available for dual memberships.

How is the $9 Fare Club related to FREE SPIRIT?

FREE SPIRIT is Spirit Airlines’ frequent flyer program which enables travelers to earn free travel on Spirit.

The $9 Fare Club is an additional feature that can be added to your FREE SPIRIT account to access our lowest fares and guarantee a discount on every flight booked through spiritair.com.

The FREE SPIRIT MasterCard offers you the opportunity to earn free travel with every purchase, gain complimentary membership into the $9 Fare Club, and access traveler benefits exclusively available to cardholders. For more information, please click here.

How do I use my $9 Fare Club membership?

Using your Fare Club membership is easy as 1-2-3!

  • Use your FREE SPIRIT Number or your email address to log into your FREE SPIRIT/Fare Club Account on spiritair.com.
  • Look for the $9 Fare Club Fare Club logo to confirm that you have successfully logged in.
  • Search for your desired travel dates and destinations.
  • The lowest available member fares will be displayed, which includes your member discount.

Please note that Fare Club benefits are only available on spiritair.com – reservations made through Spirit reservations or at an airport ticket counter do not qualify for Fare Club fares or benefits.

I have a FREE SPIRIT MasterCard – how do I use my complimentary membership?

Your FREE SPIRIT account is used to access Fare Club benefits – you may locate your account number on the front of your FREE SPIRIT Master card.

If you already have an existing FREE SPIRIT account, simply log in to access your membership. If you have more than one FREE SPIRIT account, please contact us to merge your accounts together.

If you have never logged into your FREE SPIRIT account, log into your account using the instructions below:

Your temporary password is your FREE SPIRIT number (located on your FREE SPIRIT MasterCard) + the capitalized first letter of your first name + the capitalized first letter of your last name.

For example, Jane Doe's FREE SPIRIT number is 000000001.  Jane would login using 000000001JD as her password.

For your security, please change your password and update your contact information after your initial login. This will also ensure that you don’t miss any sales and statements via email.

I don’t have my login or password for my Fare Club account, what is it?

Your Fare Club membership is part of your FREE SPIRIT account profile on spiritair.com.

If you are an existing FREE SPIRIT member, simply log into your account on spiritair.com and you should see the $9 Fare Club Fare Club logo indicating that you are a member.

If you are a new Fare Club member, you are automatically enrolled for our FREE SPIRIT program and you may use the email address you enrolled with, or your FREE SPIRIT number to log in and access your Fare Club membership.

Can I use my $9 Fare Club membership over the phone and at the airport?

Fare Club benefits are only available while you are logged in at spiritair.com – Spirit reservations and airport ticket counter agents aren’t able to view or book Fare Club fares or benefits.

Can I use my $9 Fare Club membership for other people?

Memberships are non-transferable. Membership benefits apply to all passengers on a single itinerary, as long as the club member is traveling on the same reservation and flights. However, since travel plans can change, Spirit recommends that each passenger have a separate membership to qualify for applicable discounts. Changes or modifications to bookings may require a service fee and any applicable difference in fare.

Why don’t I see Fare Club member fares?

  • Check to see that you are logged into your FREE SPIRIT/Fare Club account. Member fares are only displayed while you are logged in.
  • Ensure that you are an active Fare Club member. For more information please click here.
  • Promotion codes are combinable and must be entered at time of your flight search in order to be applied to your reservation.
  • Our sale fares are extremely popular and may sell out. Our website will automatically display the lowest available member fare at the time of your search.

I received an email with a $9 fare, but why do I only see fares that are higher?

Please keep in mind that our sale fares are popular and are offered on a first come, first serve basis, and may sell out for a particular date or flight. If you are flexible, we recommend searching for alternate dates of travel which may still have sale fares available. Our website will automatically display the lowest available member fare at the time of your search.

I forgot to login to my $9 Fare Club account, can I get my discount after booking?

To receive your Fare Club discount, you must be logged in at the time of original booking. We are unable to apply discounts after the booking has been completed. For information on how to log in, please click here.

How do I know if I’m a $9 Fare Club Member?

  • Log in to your FREE SPIRIT/Fare Club account.
  • On the navigation bar at the top of the page, look for the $9 Fare Club Fare Club logo on the left side of your screen.
  • When searching for flights, you will automatically see fares that are labeled $9 Fare Club. All fares are inclusive of your member discount, and any valid promotional codes that were added at the time of your search.

If you do not see the Fare Club logo, please check to see that your membership is active. This information can be found on your FREE SPIRIT/Fare Club account profile.

Why was my membership cancelled?

Memberships may cancel for the following reasons:

  • You did not meet the spending requirements to qualify for complimentary membership.
  • Your billing information is not valid or expired.
  • You cancelled your membership via spiritair.com, or in writing.

My membership was cancelled, but I’d like to sign up again. Can I do that?

We’re glad to welcome you back. Please visit the Fare Club enrollment page. Click here to enroll.

Memberships cancelled prior to their renewal date cannot be reactivated and a new membership term will begin with your re-enrollment.

**FREE SPIRIT members, please ensure to log in with your existing account before you enroll to ensure you receive both Fare Club savings and mileage.

The fare for my flight has changed – Can I receive a refund or credit for the difference?

Fare Club members receive the lowest available fare available for their itinerary at the time of booking – Spirit does not adjust fares on existing bookings after purchase.

However, customers have the ability to make modifications to their reservation on spiritair.com.

Please note, Fare Club benefits including exclusive sale fares are only available on spiritair.com – reservations made through Spirit reservations or at an airport ticket counter will not have access to Fare Club fares or benefits.

For non-refundable tickets, a service fee applies to changes made to a reservation. Any remaining fare difference will be held in a Spirit credit which is good for one year from the date of purchase of the original reservation.

For refundable tickets, customers may modify their reservations up until 24 hours prior to departure.

I love the fare club – how do I continue my membership?

We’re glad you’re enjoying your Fare Club benefits. For your convenience, we will automatically renew your membership at the current annual membership rate at the end of your current membership term.

How do I cancel my Fare Club membership?

We’re sorry to see you go! Planning a trip soon? Please remember that your membership is prepaid through your membership term.

Cancellations are processed immediately and you will no longer have access to your flight discount, sales and other member benefits. All membership fees paid are non-refundable.

Memberships cancelled prior to their renewal date cannot be reactivated and a new membership term will begin if you decide to rejoin the Fare Club.
